Gifts!

So an old lady in the village where my parents live sadly passed away, she was an avid artist and had all sorts of equipment and I was very kindly given a lot of her art things. I was very touched and have been experimenting with media that I would perhaps not usually use, such as these graphics pens which come out a bit like water colours.
I used them to create 2minute self portraits, here's the results.

So it's been ages since I posted and I've been pretty rubbish over the summer (been too busy festivaling and working) but this last week I've been having a catch up and doing some research for my professional practice and for my dissertation (yikes!). Final year at Uni and I really want to put my all in to it. Be prepared for more trannies and nakedness!! Bye for now!!

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, Arbus' work relates to my work so well, her images are sticking, shocking, there's strong eye contact to the camera as though her subjects know and trust her.

More Living Dolls...

So the dolls have had their photo shoots (and they thoroughly enjoyed being pampered and preened) so here's the results. I took the photographs in the same style as the ones I did of Destiny and Dave for my final piece of last project. Although it was much harder to take the photographs in macro (note to self: learn how to use my DSLR properly!)
Next thing to think about is whether to present them as actual dolls or as photographs and if as photographs what scale should they be?
